Power Book II: Ghost star Michael Rainey Jr has teased an original Power character's return in season 3.
Monique Gabriela Curnen has made a long-awaited reappearance in the Power universe after previously appearing in the original series' fifth and sixth season as Detective Blanca Rodriguez of the NYPD.
She re-emerged at the end of the second season of Ghost in the aftermath of Monet (Mary J. Blige) killing police informant Mecca (Daniel Sunjata), with help from Tariq (Rainey Jr).
Blanca was on the case and soon identified Tariq as a suspect, leading to her return in the third season to prove the link between Monet and Tariq in the underworld, thus opening up possible RICO charges.

The cop will also have to prove both drug bosses' connection to the murders of Monet's police contact Cop Danilo Ramirez and Tariq’s Professor Jabari Reynolds.
When Digital Spy spoke to Michael Rainey Jr about the danger Detective Blanca poses to Tariq and Monet, he hinted she is more than formidable.
"Oh she's going to disrupt it alright. You know what Blanca does she's, uh, she's out, like she's, she is like, man, she's persistent. She doesn't give up," he told us.

"She wants to take down the whole St Patrick family and she's not going to stop until she doe. So obviously that's going to be insane for Tariq. He's gonna have to work around that, he's gonna have to keep his, you know, keep his trail pretty light.
"He can't really, can’t be too hot with Blanca in the mix now ‘cause she's, she's gonna go at him. She's gonna go for something. You gotta be careful around her."
Blanca isn't the only face from Tariq's past who has shown up this season, as viewers were surprised by the return of a character previously killed off in the franchise.
Power Book II: Ghost season 3 is currently airing on Starz in the US and streams on Lionsgate+ in the UK.
