The first full trailer for Poker Face, a new Peacock series created by Knives Out writer-director Rian Johnson and starring Russian Doll's Natasha Lyonne, has arrived.

The 10-episode procedural drama stars Lyonne as Charlie Cale, a young woman who can "just tell" when someone is lying.

Charlie's unique gift ultimately gets her into trouble, as she lands on the radar of some very bad men, leading her to go on the run.

While on the road, Charlie finds that crime and death seem to follow her around — and it's not long before she has to put her abilities to good use.

With episodes following a case-of-the-week format, Poker Face features a huge cast of famous guest stars.

Adrien Brody, Benjamin Bratt, Cherry Jones, Chloë Sevigny, Ellen Barkin, Jameela Jamil, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Ron Perlman are all among the names set to appear in the series.

Meanwhile, Johnson is currently celebrating the success of Knives Out sequel Glass Onion, which arrived on Netflix on December 23.

Fans are loving the film so much that some have even called for the next movie in the anthology series, headed up by Daniel Craig's gentlemanly and eccentric detective Benoit Blanc, to feature the Muppets.

Speaking about the idea, Johnson told Tudum: "It’s a joke that I thought was pretty brilliant, and I ended up really giving [it] some serious thought."

However, after mulling it over, Johnson concluded that a crossover between the two just wouldn't work out.

"As much as I take the murder mystery genre seriously, I take the genre of a Muppet movie seriously," he continued.

"I think those two things have very different rules. You can either have a Benoit Blanc mystery that has Muppets in it, but they'll feel out of place.

"Or you can have a Muppet movie that Benoit Blanc is in, but it'll feel like a Muppet movie."

The filmmaker added: "I wouldn't want to compromise either of them. And I feel like in order to make it well and make it work, you'd have to make a choice and compromise one or the other.

"If I ever make a Muppet movie, I just want to make a great Muppet movie."

Poker Face debuts its first four episodes on Peacock on January 26. Knives Out is available to rent or buy on DVD, Blu-ray or as a digital download — and its sequel Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery is on Netflix now.
