Marvel star Benedict Cumberbatch is lining up a new Netflix limited series.
The Doctor Strange actor is in the final stages of signing on to Eric, according to Variety, where he plays the role of a puppeteer called Vincent Sullivan.
The lead puppeteer and puppet maker on America's biggest children's show, Vincent's life starts to unravel when his son Edgar disappears, leading to homelessness and substance addiction.

He finds a companion in a seven-foot blue puppet called Eric, who helps him on a journey to find a way home and his son.
Eric, which comes from writer Abi Morgan (Suffragette), marks Cumberbatch's return to the small screen, having originally risen to fame in the BBC's Sherlock.

This isn't the only Netflix project the star has lined up, with the actor due to star in Wes Anderson's new movie The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar alongside the likes of Ralph Fiennes, Dev Patel and Ben Kingsley.
The actor also recently signed on to star alongside X-Men's James McAvoy in new movie The Book of Clarence from Jeymes Samuel.

The actor most recently reprised his Marvel role in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, as well as Spider-Man: No Way Home before that.
Meanwhile, Sherlock boss Steven Moffat has weighed in on the possibility of the show returning, admitting he would "start writing" season five "tomorrow" if Cumberbatch and co-star Martin Freeman agreed to return.
He then quipped: "They’re on to bigger and better things but, Martin and Benedict, please come back?"
Eric will stream on Netflix. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is streaming on Disney+.
