Secret Invasion star Cobie Smulders has opened up about her role in Marvel's latest offering, revealing a little hint about what to expect from the new series.
Smulders will be reprising her role as SHIELD agent Maria Hill in Agents of SHIELD – she also appeared as Maria in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Spider-Man: Far From Home, and the Avengers movies.
She revealed "It's the most depth I've been able to show of Maria Hill," explaining viewers will get to know her character much more than we have done so far.
"That's the beauty of these series that Marvel is doing, you're able to really get backstory of these characters," she told TVLine. "What are the conversations that happen when they're just sitting around drinking coffee?
"It's not like, 'We've gotta get the bad guys! We've gotta get the thing! We've gotta save the world again!'
"It's like, ‘Let's just have a chat, let's go for a walk.' We get to see those kinds of moments and be a bit more intimate with the characters."

She'll be reuniting with the legendary Samuel L Jackson as Nick Fury in the series, which is about the secret group of shape-shifting Skrulls that have been hiding out on Earth for years and are ready to unleash their sinister plan.

New stars joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe for the show include The Crown's Olivia Colman, Peaky Blinders star Kingsley Ben-Adir and Game of Thrones and Solo: A Star Wars Story's Emilia Clarke.
Clarke recently admitted she's not allowed to reveal anything about the show, and that she's terrified she's going to spill the beans.
"I actually live in fear that something is going to happen, and I'm going to say something, and they'll get upset."
Secret Invasion is expected to premiere on Disney+ next year.
