Fate: The Winx Saga season 2 will inject a complicated dynamic into Terra's life through the arrival of her cousin Flora.
Fans of Netflix's magical teen drama may recall a backlash it received ahead of season 1, after Musa, who is East Asian in the original cartoon, was whitewashed and Flora, who is Latina in the cartoon, was brushed aside in favour of Terra, who is white.
The show is about to finally introduce Flora (Paulina Chávez) in season two. In the live-action series, Flora and Terra are cousins.
Both Chávez and Eliot Salt, who plays Terra, spoke exclusively to Digital Spy ahead of the new episodes, teasing the complex and at times tense relationship between them.

Chávez told us: "They're second-cousins by marriage, I believe, and they kind of grew up together.

"Flora, she's very well-travelled, so she's travelled with their family, and they're very opposites from each other and you get to see that in the second season.
"You see if they butt heads and Flora's trying to find her way into the Suite and find her place."

"It's a very complicated one. I think Terra absolutely... well, she loves Flora, they really love each other," said Salt. "There's such a sibling bond there. But like with siblings, they wind each other up like nobody else can.
"I think for Terra having, for the first time in her life, really started to find her feet and her group of people but she's not quite secure enough yet to to feel safe and comfortable within that."
The Normal People actress further teased: "So to have somebody come in who she knows very well and knows has the potential to cause a bit of drama – and also show her up a little bit, I think, more to the point – reflects back a lot of the things that Terra doesn't feel confident about within herself.
"So I think there's a lot going on basically, but hopefully is entertaining to watch."
Meanwhile, Abigail Cowen also shared a little about what's in store for Bloom when Fate: The Winx Saga returns.
"I think that Bloom goes through kind of... I mean, clearly a journey throughout this! So I think there are times where she is feeling a little too confident, and then there are times where she's feeling insanely scared and insecure.
"Rosalind does put a lot of pressure on her and I think that she also kind of feels a bit responsible for that because she was the one that you know, let Rosalind out in the first place, and I think that that is a bit of a complicated situation."
Fate: The Winx Saga season 2 premieres on Netflix this Friday (September 16). Season 1 is available to watch now.
