Insecure star Issa Rae's new series Rap Sh!t has been renewed for a second season.
The series, which wrapped up its debut season only a few weeks ago, follows two former high school friends called Shawna (Aida Osman) and Mia (KaMillion) who form a rap group together.
Network HBO Max has now confirmed that a follow-up season has been greenlit, with creator Rae saying (via TVLine): "We're so happy to play in the world of Rap Sh!t for another season with this incredibly talented team."

The network's head of original content Sarah Aubrey added: "We are so excited to continue this journey with Shawna and Mia and the incredibly fun world of Rap Sh!t.
"With the wonderfully comedic and unique perspectives of Aida Osman, KaMillion, Issa Rae, Syreeta Singleton and the team at Hoorae, season 2 is sure to bring even more seducing and scheming."
Rae acts as writer and executive producer on the series, though doesn't feature on screen, with Syreeta Singleton overseeing the show as showrunner.
Rae rose to fame as the co-creator and star of Insecure, which follows the experiences of an African American woman, and came to an end last year after five seasons.
Ahead of its conclusion, Rae revealed that Insecure's finale was changed just weeks before it was due to start filming.
"I think it was a good finale on its own," she told Variety. "However, I just didn't feel like it aligned with the story that we have been telling for five seasons, much less even this season. It felt like the ideal version."
Rae added: "I just wanted to make an ending that felt more realistic and true to the characters."
Rap Sh!t airs on HBO Max in the US.
