High School Musical: The Musical: The Series seems to be planning the reunion to end all reunions.
According to TVLine, the fourth season will not only find the staging of a High School Musical 3: Senior Year production, but East High School is also going to act as the shooting location for High School Musical 4: The Reunion movie, with its students signed up as extras.
Joshua Bassett (Ricky Bowen), Sofia Wylie (Gina Porter), Matt Cornett (EJ Caswell) and Dara Reneé (Kourtney Greene) announced the news at the recent D23 Expo.

KayCee Stroh, Lucas Grabeel and Corbin Bleu are the only High School Musical originals to reprise their characters in the Disney+ series up to now.
Zac Efron in particular is a strong contender to return to the franchise, after teasing his interest back in May.
"Seriously, having the opportunity in any form to go back and work with that team would be so amazing.
"My heart is still there. That would be incredible. I hope it happens," the Troy Bolton star said.

HSM:TM:TS newcomer Jojo Siwa (Madison) recently opened up about the easy decision to join the cast, having been a loyal fan of the movies back in the day.
"I immediately was like, 'Yes, I don't care the capacity, I don't care the day, I don't care the time, sign me up.' It's such a cool, iconic show and it feels like such a big, big honour, and so I just felt really grateful."
