Poldark fans brace yourselves. Aidan Turner has revealed that, unfortunately, there are no current plans for more series of the much beloved BBC show.
In a new interview with Radio Times, Turner was asked if there were plans to adapt any more of the Winston Graham novels the BBC show is based on, as there are some books that have been yet to be adapted into series.
"There are some books… I need to check what books they are. I think Ross is quite a bit older… I think Jeremy, Ross's son, he's 16 or 18 or something," Turner said.

"And I think when we left Ross, I think Jeremy might only be 10. I'm not quite sure."
Radio Times asked Turner directly, however, if there were any more plans for future Poldark series. His answer was fairly straightforward.
“No," Turner said.
So, that seems to be that. Poldark has aired for five seasons so far, with the first season airing back in 2015. The most recent season aired in 2019. The show has been consistently met with positive critical reviews, with the first season scoring a 91% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

However, the viewership has decreased with each new season, dropping from 8.11 million in the first season to 5.5 million in the fifth season.
Turner is currently starring in the new drama series The Suspect. Turner plays a clinical psychologist who gets involved in a case surrounding the death of a young woman. The thriller airs on ITV and comes from World Productions, the same company that made Line of Duty, Vigil and The Pembrokeshire Murders.
Previously, Turner starred The Tudors, The Clinic, and Being Human, while he also played Kili in Peter Jackson's The Hobbit series of films from 2012 to 2014.
