Euphoria season three will be missing one of its core cast, as Barbie Ferreira has confirmed that she won't be returning for the teen drama's new season.
Season three was confirmed halfway through the show's most recent run, with fans expecting to see the likes of Rue, Jules and Nate head back to high school – not that they get much work done.
Kat Hernandez, however, won't be back with them, with Barbie announcing her departure from Euphoria in an emotional message to fans.

Alongside an image of some Kat fanart, Barbie wrote on Instagram Stories: "After four years of getting to embody the most special and enigmatic character Kat, I'm having to say a very teary eyed goodbye."
The series regular continued: "I hope many of you could see yourself in her like I did and that she brought you joy to see her journey into the character she is today.

"I put all my care and love into her and I hope you guys could feel it. Love you Katherine Hernandez."
Back in March of this year, Ferreira addressed speculation about the atmosphere on set, following rumours of tension between her and director Sam Levinson.

"I've seen so many different things and a lot of it is untrue and some of it's kind of like mundane little things," she said of the reports.
"But I really think that the fans are really passionate and I do appreciate that because Euphoria has really impacted so many people.
"Sometimes, things take on a life of their own, and they're not rooted in the truth, but it's OK because I know it's just out of passion and out of curiosity and all that good stuff. And I signed up for it. So, I'll take it. I'll take the good and the bad."
Euphoria airs on HBO in the US and on NOW and Sky Atlantic in the UK.
