Two new episodes of The Sandman have been released by Netflix!
The streamer has confirmed that a two-part bonus episode of Neil Gaiman's Worlds of DC live-action series has dropped as a surprise today (Friday, August 19).
This double bill features an animated adaptation of 'A Dream of A Thousand Cats', a diversion from the main Sandman story arc, only connected when the cats at the centre of the instalment communicate with Morpheus (Tom Sturridge).
The incredible voice cast for 'A Dream of A Thousand Cats' will include Gaiman's Good Omens star David Tennant and his wife Georgia Tennant, fellow Good Omens star Michael Sheen and his partner Anna Lundberg, Killing Eve's Sandra Oh, X-Men's James McAvoy, The A Word's David Gyasi and Game of Thrones' Nonso Anozie, among others.
A live-action episode, 'Calliope', casts Doctor Who's Arthur Darvill as a writer who agrees to a deal to with an elder (Sir Derek Jacobi) to take the muse Calliope (Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga's Melissanthi Mahut) captive in order to inspire a successful story.

However, the writer gets more than he bargained for, as Calliope brings him into conflict with three witches, known as the Furies (EastEnders' Nina Wadia, Game of Thrones' Souad Faress and Greed's Dinita Gohil), and Morpheus to help free her.
Co-director Hisko Hulsing has said of the new episodes: "We endeavored to make the animated version of 'A Dream of a Thousand Cats' as mesmerizing and hypnotic as we could by utilizing the magic of real oil paintings on canvas.
"We combined the paintings with classically drawn 2D animation, based on realistic 3D animation of telepathic cats in order to create a trippy world that feels both grounded and dreamy at the same time. Untold Studio's in London created the breathtaking 3D animation of the cats. The wonderful 2D animation, oil paintings and stylizing were all done at Submarine Studio's in Amsterdam."
These new episodes were first tipped by Netflix earlier this week when clips were shown, without any attribution, during an episode of RuPaul's Drag Race stars Trixie Mattel and Katya's 'I Like to Watch' series for the streamer.
The Sandman season 1 is streaming on Netflix.
