Simu Liu is coming to Springfield.
As part of The Simpsons' upcoming 34th season, the Shang-Chi actor will be making a guest appearance voicing a future boyfriend for Lisa Simpson in the episode 'When Nelson Met Lisa'.
Speaking about the episode, executive producer and writer Matt Selman told Deadline: "We have Simu Liu from Marvel's Shang-Chi in an upcoming show as Lisa's perfect future boyfriend."

Season 34 of the long-running cartoon is set to premiere on September 25 in the US. Elsewhere in the interview, Selman teased upcoming storylines for the episodes, which will include two Treehouse of Horror Halloween specials.
"I'm excited about season 34. It's probably the best 34th season of any show you've ever seen," he said.

"You can't just rest on your laurels. You have to be pushing yourself and challenging yourself and making sure every episode is distinct and emotional and visual and compelling and scary and cinematic."
The next season follows on from season 33's musical finale, which saw Hugh Jackman have a cameo as a singing janitor to teach Bart about the changing fortunes of the middle classes in America.

For Simu, it's been a busy few months since he made his entrance into the Marvel universe.
He is set to make an appearance in Greta Gerwig's highly anticipated Barbie film, playing another version of Ken alongside Ryan Gosling and Ncuti Gatwa.
While the actor has given little away about the upcoming role, he did reveal he'd been through an extensive waxing process in order to get into character as Ken.
"Waxing has been an education to say the least," he said. "It was one of the most painful experiences of my life."
The Simpsons airs on Disney+, Sky Showcase and Channel 4 in the UK.
