Better Call Saul creator Vince Gilligan has addressed the possibility of a new Breaking Bad spin-off.
Saul, which is itself a spin-off / prequel to Breaking Bad, is now less than one week away from ending its run – and with that, fans will have to bid farewell to a beloved franchise they've had around for 15 years now.
There are unquestionably other avenues Gilligan and his team could explore for a spin-off, a prequel or a proper sequel to Breaking Bad, but he's admitted to Rolling Stone that he's ready to move on.

"Yes, I could do more with this universe," he acknowledged. "And maybe someday I will, especially if I fail at everything that comes next. Then I'll come crawling back.
"But right now, whether there's more room to grow or not – and there probably is – I feel like it's time to do something new."
What to Read Next
The writer said that continuing with more Breaking Bad now would make him feel like a "one-trick pony", but that doesn't mean the franchise is gone forever.
"Without naming any names, I look around at some of the worlds, the universes, the stories that I love, whether they're on TV or in the movies. And I think there's a certain point, and it's hard to define, where you've done too much in the same universe," he said.
"And some universes are much bigger and more elastic. Ours is a very small one, Albuquerque, New Mexico, versus some of these worlds and series of movies and TV shows."
Enjoy the next week while it lasts, everyone! The clock is ticking and there may be more Breaking Bad faces before the end.
Better Call Saul airs on AMC in the US and on Netflix in the UK.
