Rick and Morty is back! Well, almost.
Season six of the acclaimed Adult Swim show premieres on September 4 and now the show's first teaser for the series has given us a glimpse of the iconic duo back in action.

The trailer begins with a voiceover telling us that "a lot has happened in the past few years," while clips from previous episodes are shown.
Amongst these throwbacks is a clip of the giant turkey in season five's sixth episode 'Rick & Morty's Thanksploitation Spectacular', plus a clip from the same season's second episode, 'Mortyplicity', which featured all those family decoys.
In between all these images is audio of Morty saying "you can't outrun your past, Rick," in a rather ominous way. This leads into the voiceover declaring "long story short, the universe as we all know it has ended" while we see that famous moment from the climax of season five in which President Morty leaves the central finite curve and enters an unknown universe via a yellow portal.
The teaser then cuts to Rick and Morty yelling at something or someone outside of a spaceship with a red sign labelled "SPOILER" covering whoever or whatever it is.
Or, perhaps they are literally yelling at a red spoiler sign. You never can tell with Rick and Morty. We'll find out on September 4.
Rick and Morty co-creator Justin Roiland recently claimed that season six will bring the show back to its best after what he referred to as a "weird" season five.
"I think season 6 is – I didn't particularly think season 5 was bad, but season 6 is f**king amazing. It really is a f**king quality season," Roiland said.
Rick and Morty airs on Adult Swim in the US, and on E4 and All 4 in the UK.
