Kermit might now be known for his vocal prowess thanks to his stint on The Masked Singer US, but there's another musical muppet about to get their time in the spotlight.

Or should we say, muppets.

Yes, Dr Teeth and the Electric Mayhem have finally been given their very own TV series after making their debut way back when in 1975 – and Disney+ is where you'll find it.

Confirming Disney's latest Muppets project, the official Twitter accounts for both subscription service Disney+ and Electric Mayhem shared a sneak peek at The Muppets Mayhem, a series charting the band's journey as they record their first album.

"We had a totally groove-tastic day at the beach today!" Dr Teeth and the band revealed. "The acoustics here are far out, man."

For the uninitiated, Dr Teeth and the Electric Mayhem features Dr Teeth on vocals, Floyd Pepper on vocals and bass, Janice on vocals and lead guitar, Zoot on Saxophone, Lips on Trumpet, and of course, Animal on drums.

Disney Live Entertainment and Muppets Studio big boss David Lightbody shared the cast and crew's excitement over bringing Electric Mayhem's music to life once more.

"We are so excited to bring the story of The Electric Mayhem Band to the front and centre of this new series," he said in a statement.
