Never Have I Ever spoilers follow.

Never Have I Ever season four is definitely happening, but perhaps we shouldn't be in a rush to get our hands on it — it is the final season, after all.

When talking of the end, series creator Mindy Kaling told Entertainment Weekly: "We finished season four, and it's good. It's just a testament to how hard it is to say goodbye to characters you love writing."

"It takes a while for writers to figure out characters. You write a pilot, and then you hire people, and then you get into this groove. That's why so many shows growing up lasted like five seasons too long," she added with a laugh.

"But I do feel that, in a couple years, I'll look back on this and say: 'No, that was good that it ended then.'"

Devi has a lot of life and love lessons to learn as she enters her final year of high school. With things seemingly steaming up with Ben, we have to ask what's next for her. And let's not forget her gang of besties and her family.

Here's everything you need to know as Devi gets ready for her next big move.

Never have we ever been so excited to get the news of a season premiere date. Unlock your phone and set the reminder: Never Have I Ever's fourth and final season will hit Netflix on June 8, 2023.

The news was announced in a post on Netflix UK's official Instagram page, which also included the new trailer drop. Alongside the post, the caption read: "Devi's in her graduating era when the final season of Never Have I Ever premieres on 8 june!!"

We all know what that means: More drama on overdrive thanks to the Sherman Oaks High crew's soon-to-change futures.

Never Have I Ever just wouldn't be the same without Maitreyi Ramakrishnan as Devi Vishwakumar, our leading lady, so expect her back in business to navigate school, family and boys with plenty of grace and decorum... or at least as much of each as she can muster.

But she wouldn't be anywhere without her besties Fabiola Torres (Lee Rodriguez), Eleanor Wong (Ramona Young) and Aneesa Qureshi (Megan Suri).

Then, there's obviously the boys in her life – because what's more important than that right now? Jaren Lewison is almost certain to return as Ben Gross, given where we saw the character last in season three.

And even though Paxton Hall-Yoshida (Darren Barnet) moved to Arizona to start college after graduating from Sherman Oaks High at the end of season three, he'll still be part of season four.

Speaking to Deadline, showrunner Lang Fisher assured: "I want you to know Paxton Hall-Yoshida is in season four. He's in it as much as in season three, so the love triangle is not over."

Michael Cimino will play season four's new hottie, Ethan, described as a skater.

"He is a whole different kind of character. He’s like the opposite of Des," Fisher told The Wrap. "He is a true bad boy, like bad at school, kind of gets in trouble a lot."

"He's a thirst trap in a different way," Fisher added. "He's someone who [Devi] thinks is a degenerate but can't help but be like, 'Well, he is incredibly hot.'"

"Season four is so fun and great and is a real epic senior year," she said. "Everybody gets to have a great send-off and has a great final season journey."

Then, of course, you have Devi's family: her mother Nalini (Poorna Jagannathan), grandmother Nirmala (Ranjita Chakravarty) and cousin Kamala (Richa Moorjani). They'll all likely be on hand to get Devi through this life-changing school year.

Manish Kulkarni (Utkarsh Ambudkar) was a more prominent addition to the cast in season three, having first appeared in season two. Now, he's been upgraded from Devi's cool school teacher to Kamala's well-meaning boyfriend.

And it looks like Kamala and Devi aren't the only ones getting struck by the lovebug in the family, with the introduction of The Good Wife and NCIS star Ivan Hernandez as a mystery man named Andres.

"There's a real hunk coming in for season four," showrunner Lang teased to Deadline. "Common's character [Dr Chris Jackson] came into the story during Devi's sophomore year [season 2], and nobody was ready for it then. Nalini admits she wasn't ready for it.

"Ivan's character Andres shows up during Devi's senior year, when there's been a little more time for everyone to kind of process stuff and be in a different place."

Rounding out the cast is Niecy Nash as Devi's therapist Dr Ryan and John McEnroe as the voice of Devi's inner monologue, as always.

Never Have I Ever season 4 plot: What's going to happen in Never Have I Ever season 4?

Never Have I Ever season three ended on a little bit of a cliffhanger when Devi turned up to Ben's house to cash in that 'one free boink' voucher he had jokingly given her.

Devi made the decision after realising she still had feelings for Ben after he admitted he didn't want her to leave for a year-long educational programme away from California.

Devi ultimately decided to stay — not for him, but because after her father's death, she wasn't ready to let go of her mother Nalini quite so quickly.

Meanwhile, Paxton is heading off to Arizona State University, but how he feels about Devi remains to be seen. He made an outright point to credit her for his growth during a graduation speech, yet it seems they have both made peace with moving on from each other.

However, first loves die hard, and Lang hinted that Paxton still might be making a final play for Devi's heart.

"The love triangle is the skeleton of the show and you can't take it away for the final season," he said.

"But we wanted this final episode [of season three] to be Devi saying goodbye to Paxton on a pedestal. In season four, there will be fun and interesting things that ensue after whatever has happened [between Devi and Ben]."

Elsewhere, Nalini is still trying to adapt to a life without Mohan. And after a possible relationship dissolved in season two and a supposed friendship imploded in season three, perhaps it's time we see her build a life on her own two feet.

The main event of season four will be our girls' senior year at Sherman Oaks. There will be a lot of things to cover to make it one to remember before they head off to college — and possibly away from each other as their safety net.

"There are plenty of romantic hijinks in season four to come," Fisher said (via The Hollywood Reporter).

"Without giving too much away about anything, [Devi] is done in this moment with Paxton as a dream guy. He was someone that she had put on a pedestal and worshipped from afar. That part of her life is over and that's what she's saying goodbye to in this moment.

"As for what the future holds for Devi and Paxton, it's not the version we've seen before, where she's a loser who worshipped him. Whatever happens post-her showing up there will also be introducing complications into season four.

"I think season four is about growing up and moving on. For these characters, it's their senior year. Who do they want to be in the world? And I think it's, like, them being slightly more grown-up versions of themselves and having this kind of big, epic senior year.

"Hopefully, we send people off into their future lives in a way that feels satisfying to our fans."

"She and Ben are both laser-focused on these elite schools that they want to go to, that they've been these annoying A students for so long," Fisher said (via Netflix). "There's a lot of figuring out what those things mean in terms of who they are, and what their worth is in [relation] to what college they get into."

But it does sound like Devi will be in a good place in season four.

"I think all of my hopes and dreams that I would want for good old Devi have come true," Ramakrishnan said. “I feel like if I said what I would want, I would just be telling you what happened."

Whatever happens, we reckon it's going to be a bit of a tear-jerker by the end.

Never Have I Ever season 4 trailer: Is there a Never Have I Ever season 4 trailer yet?

It's here, and 'zaaaamn' that brief trip down Devi's memory lane was rough.

After recapping Devi's road to senior year and the embarrassing incidents that have paved the way, the trailer gets stuck into the fun of Devi and her pals' graduation year.

Said fun also happens to include a new romance in Devi's life — as if Paxton and Ben weren't enough.

Things are about to get wild, we just know it!

Never Have I Ever is available to watch on Netflix.
