Dash & Lily star Midori Francis will be scrubbing up as a surgical resident at Grey Sloan Memorial for season 19 of Grey's Anatomy.
It's welcome news in terms of storylines, as fans will remember season 18 ended with the decommissioning of Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital's teaching program after some high-risk mistakes.
The Netflix star will be playing a first-year surgical resident, called Mika Yasuda, according to The Wrap.
ABC describes Mika as a middle child with eight siblings, who is used to being overlooked and underestimated, using it to her advantage. Mika is dealing with overwhelming student loans from medical school, but she's scrappy and confident she can make it in the program and rise to the top.
Also joining the cast as season regulars are The Thing About Harry star Niko Terho, who will be playing Lucas Adams, "the charming black sheep of his family" and Inventing Anna's Alexis Floyd, who is playing Simone Griffin, a "high-achieving, funny and whip-smart" character.

After that bombshell, viewers saw doctors Owen Hunt and Teddy Altman fleeing with their two children after it was discovered Owen had been giving pills to veterans to aid their suicides.
However, that doesn't mean it's the last we've seen of the pair. Speaking to People, Kim Raver, who plays Teddy, recently hinted that wasn't the end of their storyline.
"I mean, look, I hope that's not the way we're ending it. There is still a lot to be told with these two," she said. "But you never know. You have to keep everyone sort of wanting to tune in at the end of September. I just think there are still stories to be told."
Grey's Anatomy returns for season 19 on October 6, airing on ABC in the US. In the UK, seasons 1-17 are streaming on Disney+, while season 18 is available via Sky Witness and NOW.
