Creators of The Rookie and The Rookie: Feds have revealed that we might see a crossover between the two shows.

Speaking at San Diego Comic-Con, show bosses Alexi Hawley and Terence Paul Winter answered questions on the shows and their futures, including whether we'll see a potential crossover between The Rookie and its upcoming spin-off, The Rookie: Feds.

"Yes we will," Hawley said. "The way Feds tell stories is slightly different, whereas FBI is more an investigative show vs a patrol show. We are trying to crossover as much as we can."

"We shoot on the same lot which makes it easier," Winter added.

Although the showrunners didn't give away too many details about what a potential crossover would look like, it's certainly an exciting time for The Rookie universe after news of the upcoming spin-off show was revealed in February this year.

Focusing on season 4 side character Simone Clark (played by When They See Us actor Niecy Nash), the spin-off series will possibly explore more of her story.

Nash's guest appearance saw her character being brought in by John Nolan (Nathan Fillion) and the LA branch of the FBI to assist on a case after one of her former pupils is suspected of terrorism.

This will then be followed by the premiere of The Rookie: Feds, which begins on September 27.

The Rookie airs on ABC in the US and airs on Sky Witness in the UK. It can also be streamed on NOW.
