X-Men star Hugh Jackman has joined the cast of Koala Man, the new animated series from Rick and Morty creator Justin Roiland.

The show from Hulu is described as a family comedy focusing on Australian suburban hero Koala Man, who has no powers but a passion to stop petty crime and bring order to his hometown of Dapto.

Jackman is set to star in a lead voice role as Big Greg, who is Kevin aka Koala Man's supervisor, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Koala Man himself will be voiced by series creator Michael Cusack.

Big Greg is the most-liked man in the town of Dapto and, much to Kevin's dismay, keeps getting the credit for Koala Man's good deeds.

Cusack previously teamed up with Roiland when he wrote and directed the 2018 Rick and Morty April Fool's special Bushworld Adventures.

Last year, Digital Spy reported that Hulu had picked up Koala Man with an eight-episode order.

Meanwhile, season 6 of Rick and Morty is set for release this year. At Rick and Morty's exclusive panel at the Adult Swim Festival in November, the broadcaster confirmed a 2022 premiere was planned.
