The Boys confirms crossover between series ahead of season 4

The Boys' universe is vastly expanding, and if there is any series able to achieve a weirdly awesome, squirm-in-your-seat crossover between its different shows, it's this one.

Besides the original Amazon Prime Video show, the fast-growing franchise has animated spin-off The Boys Presents: Diabolical and an upcoming show, The Boys Presents: Varsity.

Creator Eric Kripke has confirmed that Varsity will be overlapping a lot with the original show during its first season, as its students will be experiencing the effects of the season 3 ending of The Boys.

"There’s definitely crossover," Kripke told Deadline. "And we’re doing our best to design a universe that sees some of the issues and storylines in season 3 hand off to the first season of Varsity."

"There’s a presidential campaign happening in the background of that season and there’s certain things that are happening at that school that are both in reaction to season 3 of The Boys.

"There’s Soldier Boy, etcetera, but also some new storylines that are happening in that season of the spin-off that we have to pick up and take into season 4 of the show."

Varsity is described as a part college show and part Hunger Games inspired. It will follow a group of "hormonal" superheroes as they put their powers to the test and compete for the best contracts outside their academy.

The cast includes Bridgerton star Shelley Conn, You's London Thor and Runaways' Derek Luh, as well as Asa Germann, Chance Perdomo and Jaz Sinclair (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), Lizze Broadway, and Maddie Phillips (Teenage Bounty Hunters.

All three seasons of The Boys are streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
