It's official: The CW's The Winchesters and Walker: Independence are set to premiere this October.
The network announced on Monday (July 4) that the prequel to Supernatural would premiere October 11, with the 1800s spinoff for the gunslinging western Walker making its debut October 6.
Bringing back Jensen Ackles' Dean Winchester as its narrator, The Winchesters promises to chronicle "the epic, untold love story of how John [Winchester] met [his wife] Mary and how they put it all on the line to not only save their love, but the entire world".

The actor will also serve as executive producer on the show, much to the advantage of its leading stars Drake Rodger and Meg Donnelly.
"He was on set every single day of the pilot, just like being super collaborative, giving us notes, telling us about the universe that we might not know about. So it was really good insight," Donnelly said.
As shown in the trailer, The Winchesters will kick off in the year 1972 when Mary and John meet. After saving his life from an encounter with demons, Mary reluctantly introduces John to her demon-hunting friends and their supernatural world.

Walker: Independence will follow an affluent Bostonian named Abby Walker, who meets Hoyt while on a personal mission for vengeance after her husband is murdered. The pair arrive in the town of Independence, Texas, but it's not everything that it appears to be.
Shadowhunters star Katherine McNamara will take on the role of Abby, while Walker's Matt Barr will be crossing over to the prequel as Hoyt.
In the show's preview, we see Abby playing dead before being rescued and starting a new life in the town of Independence, but she's informed by the sheriff that "people here... they're all running from something".
The Winchesters premieres October 11 and Walker: Independence premieres October 6 on the CW.
