Joel McHale has teased why a Community movie may happen.
The cult comedy series has been off air for seven years now, though has found renewed interest on streaming in more recent times.
As such, McHale – who played Jeff Winger in the community college-set series – has suggested that there might now be scope for a big screen outing.

"I'm setting aside all the money to make [the movie] happen," he quipped to ComicBook. "Before when I'd answer the question, I'd be like, 'Maybe, I have no idea'. But now, with its success on the streamers during the pandemic, the interest has returned.
"I would say it's more likely than it was before, definitely, but it's like building an aircraft carrier. You go, 'We're gonna do this, right? Yeah, okay, everybody's here, we got the money'. Now, this thing has to actually get built.

"There's a lot more than just, 'Hey, let's make a movie now, great'. It's a lot of moving parts. So I'm more positive than I was, definitely, but we'll see. That's a terrible answer, but definitely better than my answer two years ago."
It comes nearly a year after creator Dan Harmon confirmed that a movie was in progress, with a script being worked on.
"I started writing to keep my parents from hitting me, and I now only write to feel valid," he told on Vulture's Good One podcast. "But the upside of that is I am, at least once a week, thinking about it – the gears are turning. There is, like... a thing is happening.
"Logistically, the locks are coming away. And the only problems are becoming the creative ones, which is great, because I love those problems. I love having these conversations, and they're being had."
