Apple TV+ series Lady in the Lake has signed up Obi-Wan Kenobi's Moses Ingram to replace Lupita Nyong'o in the role of Cleo Sherwood.

Oscar winner Nyong'o, whose previous credits include the Star Wars sequel trilogy, 12 Years a Slave and Us, quit the series last month, and production on the show is now underway.

Deadline reported Ingram's casting. She'll appear opposite Natalie Portman, who returns to the Marvel Cinematic Universe very soon as The Mighty Thor.

Adapted from Laura Lippman's 2019 novel, Lady in the Lake is set in 1960s Baltimore, where an unsolved murder pushes housewife and mother Maddie Schwartz (played by Portman) to reinvent herself as an investigative journalist.

The path she treads sets her on a collision course with Cleo, a fellow mother who's balancing raising her children with multiple jobs and her advocacy for Baltimore's Black community.

Alma Har'el (Honey Boy) co-writes as well as directs, while Y'Lan Noel (Insecure), Mikey Madison (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood) and Brett Gelman (Stranger Things) also star.

Meanwhile, Nyong'o will reprise her role as Nakia in Black Panther sequel Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

Opening up ahead of filming last year and following on from the death of her co-star and friend Chadwick Boseman in 2020, Nyong'o said: "People will ask me, 'Are you excited to go back?' Excitement isn't the word.

"I feel like I'm in a very pensive and meditative state when it comes to Black Panther 2.

"His passing is still extremely raw for me. And I can't even begin to imagine what it will be like to step on set and not have him there."

The MCU sequel, also starring Letitia Wright, Danai Gurira, Daniel Kaluuya, Winston Duke, Martin Freeman, Dominique Thorne and Angela Bassett, is due to be released in November.

Obi-Wan Kenobi is streaming on Disney+. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and the entire Skywalker Saga are available on DVD, Blu-ray and 4K now, as well as on Disney+.
