Star Wars fans have lost their minds after hearing Obi-Wan utter his iconic line again on the Disney+ series.

Fans were over the moon to see the Obi-Wan Kenobi finale depict the first meeting between Luke Skywalker and Ben Kenobi.

In the scenes, Obi-Wan told Owen that he was not going to keep badgering him about training Luke as a Jedi.

As a result, Owen then decided to let Ben meet the youngster, at which point fans heard Ewan McGregor's character say: "Hello there!"

It's the first time fans have heard the actor say the iconic phrase since he appeared in the prequel movie trilogy.

The next time Kenobi will say "Hello there" will be to R2-D2, about nine years later after his first meeting with Luke, in Star Wars: A New Hope.

Meanwhile, episode 6 marked a bittersweet moment for Star Wars fans.

The Disney+ series starring Ewan McGregor in the titular role was originally conceived as a limited series, meaning it is unlikely its plot will bleed over into a second instalment.

According to Kenobi writer and executive producer Joby Harold, as a result, there are no real plans to return for a second season – at least at present.

"I'm being asked about it constantly," Harold said on the Deadline Podcast. "I've just been thinking about this for so long as a close-ended story that my mind is so focused on this as a sort of limited [series], that I haven't thought beyond it.

"But he's a great character. They're all amazing characters," he added.

Alongside McGregor, the series also stars Game of Thrones' Indira Varma in the role of Tala Durith, Vivien Lyra Blair as Princess Leia Organa and The Queen's Gambit star Moses Ingram as Reva Sevander aka Third Sister.

Obi-Wan Kenobi is now streaming new episodes weekly on Disney+, airing on Wednesdays. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and the entire Skywalker Saga are available on DVD, Blu-ray and 4K now, as well as on Disney+.
