Game of Thrones' make-up effects artist Barrie Gower has teased what we can expect from the prequel series, House of the Dragon.
In an interview with Digital Spy, Gower sat down to talk about his work on Game of Thrones and the new spin-off.
While talking about working on House of the Dragon, Gower revealed that while the show is set in the same world, it's completely different from Game of Thrones.
"We finished on the first season of House of the Dragon in January. So we were involved in the first series of that. And we have several characters to do on that," he explained.

"I think… again, we can't really say an awful lot about it, but I think the one thing we can say is that, going into it, it's obviously a completely different story to Game of Thrones – it's however many years before."
What to Read Next
Gower also expressed that while he can't reveal much, the writing on the show is "incredible" and that he is excited to see how the world will respond to it.
"The scripts are incredible. They're really incredible. And it's going to be very exciting to see how that's received. But it's really well-written, and there are some fantastic stories in there. That's all I can say, really, about that."
The Best Make-Up BAFTA winner has taken his Game of Thrones influences to other projects, too. Most recently, he revealed to us that Vecna from Stranger Things season 4 was inspired by the Night King.
"We were approached by Matt and Ross Duffer, and one of the producers, Iain Paterson," said Gower. "Their brief, really – they were fans of our work from Game of Thrones, and the character we did, the Night King. And they were also fans of recent work we'd done for Chernobyl for HBO as well, with all the radiation-burn victims.
"For season four, they were after an iconic villain, and I think they almost wanted a mix of those two approaches. I think they were basically after their own Night King for Stranger Things.
"It was strictly within the Stranger Things world. I think they were after a menacing character, and somebody who had a similar presence to the Night King," he added.
House of the Dragon will premiere in August 2022, airing on HBO in the US, and Sky Atlantic and NOW in the UK. Game of Thrones seasons 1-8 are available on DVD and Blu-ray.
