Stephen Amell's TV series Heels may link back to his other big series Arrow in its second season.

The wrestling drama is the actor's first major TV project since he departed from the role of Oliver Queen over two years ago – and while very much a separate universe, it seems it may have "tie-ins" for fans in the future.

As reported by TVLine in response to a question regarding season 2 of Heels, the publication replied: "What if I told you that Starz's Stephen Amell-led wrestling drama will have some Arrow tie-ins during its sophomore run…?"

What that will mean is anybody's guess, but the likely possibility is that we may see some familiar faces from Arrow pop up.

Heels follows two brothers, played by Amell and Alexander Ludwig, who play out wrestling matches while sparring over their late father's wrestling promotion and trying to get national attention.

"It was right around the weekend of the TCAs," he recalled. "I was heading down with David Ramsey, and I got a chance to see Greg Berlanti, just through my manager and agents – just through all my different people – and I told them about this opportunity.

"A lot of them, honestly, were sort of hesitant that I was snapping at the first thing that was coming my way once people knew that Arrow was ending."

However, they came around after he told them how much the writing resonated with him, adding: "They were like, 'Look, if you really like the scripts – just because this is the first opportunity, doesn't mean that it's the wrong opportunity'."

Heels is available on Starzplay via Amazon Prime in the UK and airs on Starz in the US.
