Scrubs could be getting a proper revival.

The medical sitcom has remained in the public consciousness due to the Fake Doctors, Real Friends podcast in which Zach Braff and Donald Faison go through every episode and share their anecdotes.

At an on-stage reunion special over the weekend, the cast assembled with creator and showrunner Bill Lawrence and talked about what it would take to get a revival and what form it could potentially take.

"I think we all want it," Faison said (via Variety). "We all would love to work together again. It’s just that it’s really hard. It can’t be a full season of a show.

"It would have to be a movie or something like that, where you could only give a couple of months to it. Everyone is doing things. [Lawrence] is never going to be free again."

Lawrence is definitely up for finding the time to do something too, stating: "We’re gonna do it because we’re lucky enough that people care. Top to bottom, we enjoy spending time with each other. If you ever have an excuse to work with people that you’d want to spend time with anyways, run to it.

"It’s worth it to me to see Neil [Flynn] back in that jumpsuit again."

No-one on stage gave a hint as to where their characters might be nowadays, not wanting to spoil what would happen in a revival, but Judy Reyes did joke that JD and Turk would finally come out as gay (and assumedly be in a relationship with each other).

Scrubs is available to stream in its entirety on Disney+.
