Power Book III: Raising Kanan has dropped its season two trailer with an insight into what viewers might expect for Racquel (Patina Miller) and Kanan (Mekai Curtis) - and a release date.
The season premiere of the Starz series will air on Sunday, August 14 and from the looks of the trailer, we will be jumping right into the action.
Viewers will return to the nineties as we continue following Kanan's teen years. The end of the last season saw Kanan's unsuccessful killing of his estranged father, Detective Malcolm Howard.

Although viewers know that Detective Howard is alive, the fallout of the attempted murder, orchestrated by Kanan's mother, Raquel, looks set to cause a rupture between mother and son.
In the trailer, Kanan says to Raquel, "I don't think I'm up to any of this", to which Raquel tells him, "everything I'm doing, I'm doing for you". The season looks to test family loyalty and Kanan's resolve to follow his mother's vision.

Season 2 also has an array of new cast members joining, including Hamilton's Krystal Joy Brown as Kanan's anger management therapist.
Soprano's Michael Rispoli joins her as Sal Boselli, the "powerful, charismatic, Italian mob boss" of Newark and Pretty Little Liars star Paloma Guzman as Detective Regina Foyle - a veteran NYPD detective with a "sensitive yet rugged side".
Will Raquel and Kanan resolve their tension? As Raquel says in the trailer: "I know we got our differences but at the end of the day, we blood."
