9-1-1 recently ended its fifth series, but fans need not worry about the show being renewed for a sixth.
Executive producer Kristen Reidel has shared what the audience can look forward to when the 118 returns to screens.
"For season six we want to go back to basics, which is a little of what we did in the back half of season five," she told Hello.
"We want to have more fun with the characters – we didn't get to really do that this year.
"Also, I think I'd like to see us mixing it up and not always having Hen (Aisha Hinds) and Chimney (Kenneth Choi) together; let's do some stories with Chimney and Eddie!
"That's the hope for next season to just mix it up, and have fun with our people."

Reidel also spoke about the challenges of trying to run numerous storylines with nine main characters.
She added that she previously tried to give all the stars equal screen time but it "never goes well".
"The thing we try to do is keep the eye on the big picture," she said.
"A lot of times we do a story with one character that will lend itself to another story with that character in the next episode, so we do try and do two or three episodes focusing on one character, then allow another to have their moment.
"It's a constant juggling act because we love them all and the challenge is [we only have] 43 minutes."
The season has been a rollercoaster for the characters, including Maddie (Jennifer Love Hewitt) who has been going through an emotional post-partum depression storyline after giving birth to baby Jee-Yun.
Reidel added how proud she was of that particular story adding: "It's ok to not be okay, and it's okay to get help, and as we see in the finale, if you are worried about friends, please go and check on them."
9-1-1 airs on FOX in the US and Sky Witness in the UK.
