There's good and bad news ahead for fans of Prime Video's Jack Ryan.

Deadline has reported that the show, which stars John Krasinski as Tom Clancy's iconic character, will end after its fourth season which is currently filming.

The site adds that, according to sources, Krasinski had committed to four seasons of Jack Ryan when he signed on to play the character.

But while that's the bad news, fans will be happy to know that a potential spin-off series is in the works.

Deadline adds that a series starring Ant-Man's Michael Peña as Ding Chavez is in the early stages of development, with no firm concept or a script ready yet.

Peña as Chavez is set to be introduced in the final episode of season 3 before joining the cast full-time in season 4.

Chavez joined the CIA straight from the US Army and has gone on missions to Colombia, Iran and been stationed in the United Kingdom where he acted as the executive officer of Rainbow Six.

Last November, it was reported that Lost's Zuleikha Robinson and Station 19's Okieriete Onaodowan had been cast as series regulars for the show's fourth season.

Robinson will play Zeyara and Onaodowan will portray Adebayo 'Ade' Osoji.

Also joining the cast is Louis Ozawa (Hunters) as a series regular, while Derek Cecil (House of Cards) and Nancy Lenehan (People of the Earth) join in recurring roles.

As for season three, a premiere date has not been confirmed by Prime Video yet.

The third season finds Jack Ryan at large and in a race against time, as he is falsely accused in a larger conspiracy that makes him a fugitive out in the cold.

Wanted both by the CIA and an international rogue faction that he has discovered, the eponymous hero is forced underground traversing all of Europe in an effort to stay alive and prevent a massive global conflict.

Jack Ryan seasons 1-2 are streaming now on Prime Video.
