Power Book IV: Force star Anthony Fleming III, who was revealed as Tommy Egan's (Joseph Sikora) secret brother JP Gibbs on the show, has opened up about who JP's estranged son is.
After JP revealed to Egan that he's in financial trouble due to his father's ill health, a divorce battle with his ex-husband and that someone's got it in for him as his club keeps getting shot at, Gibbs also revealed that he's searching for his son who he hasn't seen in 14 years after splitting with his son's mother.
Force fans were quick to point out the connection between JP and Darnell 'D-Mac' McDowell (Lucien Cambric) as his son and the shooter of his club.

Digital Spy exclusively sat down with the Force star who responded to the fan theories around his son's identity (and subsequently the club shooter) as D-Mac, and confirmed that they are indeed true – and JP doesn't even know.
"I think it's pretty clear. At least, I think it's clear that it is. I think D-Mac knows that that's his father's club. I would hope that the audience thinks that as well. The only person who doesn't know is JP, which I love, yeah.

"And it's so well-played in so many subtle ways by Lucien Cambric, who plays D-Mac. There is a look – I think it was episode 4 – when him and I… when JP and D-Mac come face to face. There's just this look that Lucien gives as D-Mac is looking at his father, and just the hurt of there being no recognition of who he is.
"'I'm standing before my father, and he does not even recognise me.' And that look, I think, just spoke volumes. It's such a painful moment as the audience, because your son is [in] front of you. He's right here. He doesn't even know it."
Describing how shocking it was as a viewer that JP didn't recognise his own son, Fleming III adds: "Isn't that the case a lot of times in life? What you're looking for is right in front of you."

The Prison Break actor opened up about how he thinks JP will react when he finally realises D-Mac is his estranged son. "I think it's going to be something to see. Depending on whether or not Tommy knows – like, who's going to know first? Tommy or JP? Or is he going to know?
"But I just know that D-Mac was someone – or is someone – who's very important to JP. Becoming a father meant everything to him, and he loves his son very much. And his son has been missing, essentially, for 14 years. He's had no clue where he is, or what type of person he's becoming. Is he safe? You know, things that, as a parent, you want to know [about] your child. And JP has had no connection to this child.
"And if he finds out who he is, and he finds him again, I know he'll never do anything to lose him."
