The Last of Days of Ptolemy Grey is finally here.
A miniseries from the legendary Samuel L Jackson, who executive producers and stars as the titular main character: a 93-year-old hermit with dementia who tries to investigate the death of his nephew.
Jackson has starred in everything from multiple Tarantino movies to The Incredibles, Star Wars and the Marvel Cinematic Universe, so we're sure he's got a wealth of knowledge to share with his co-stars.
Understandably, when Digital Spy got to speak with Dominique Fishback, who plays Robin in the Apple TV+ series, we had to ask her what advice Jackson gave her, and her answer made the actor seem even more cooler than we thought (something we didn't think was possible).

"Sam has a photographic memory, so he knows his lines, and everybody's lines, and he will put you to shame," Fishback said.

"And he'll say it. And, you know, he's 73 years old. 'Dominique, you've got to learn your lines.'
"He has the quick memory to grab those things. So to see that, obviously makes you want to step up. But more than that, it was just him being himself. The Sam that you get in interviews, on social media, and on set, is the Sam that you're always going to get. He is very much himself."

The actress also said that, as a young performer starting out, there's a temptation to be "like a machine", efficient and perfect and not getting anything wrong. But as filming begun, Jackson got Fishback the Cicely Tyson memoir Just As I Am, and it taught her to "always be myself, and operate from the truest place".
The Last of Days of Ptolemy Grey is available now on Apple TV+.
