Fleabag's Phoebe Waller-Bridge lining up TV comeback

Phoebe Waller-Bridge is making her return to TV with a mysterious project.

Deadline reports that Waller-Bridge has created her first TV series since wrapping her Primetime Emmy Award-winning comedy Fleabag in 2019.

The show is being produced as part of her production deal with Amazon for Prime Video and is expected to begin filming before the end of 2022, but almost nothing else has been made public yet.

That means it's not clear whether it's a comedy or drama, whether Waller-Bridge will be appearing in the show or when her huge fanbase can expect it to be streaming on Prime Video.

Perhaps Waller-Bridge learned from all the secrecy she had while working with the James Bond franchise on No Time to Die over the last few years.

Waller-Bridge was most recently supposed to be starring with Donald Glover in a TV remake of Mr & Mrs Smith, with the pair taking on the roles played in a previous movie version by Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt.

However, the writer-actress would eventually leave the series when it was reported she'd had creative differences with Glover over their new adaptation of the classic spy story.

Waller-Bridge has no shortage of projects in the works, as she is set to star with Harrison Ford in the long-awaited fifth Indiana Jones movie for Disney.

Indiana Jones 5 has faced numerous delays over the last decade, most recently when Harrison Ford suffered a shoulder injury on set last summer. Filming wrapped on the movie just this past week.

She also produces Killing Eve, which recently started airing its fourth and final season. If there's anyone who can live up to the expectations of Fleabag and Killing Eve, it's definitely Phoebe Waller-Bridge.

Killing Eve season 4 airs BBC America in the US and on BBC iPlayer in the UK.
