American Horror Story season 11 is making this big change

American Horror Story is making a big change when it comes to season 11's release compared to season 10.

The long-running horror anthology series decided to split its tenth season Double Feature into two stories that ultimately had no connection to each other, which made quite the change from the way things usually work.

However, season 11 won't be doing it again and will instead feature one story throughout, FX Chairman John Landgraf has confirmed.

Landgraf told The Wrap: "What I can tell you is that the concept of season 11 is one story. It actually takes place in different timelines, but it's one subject, one story, with a beginning, middle, and an end, like many of the prior stories."

Though Landgraf was personally a fan of season 10's split (while many fans weren't), he still thinks that season 11's style will be a hit.

"I think [season 10] was really good. I liked the two shorter stories format. But I actually really like this idea too. I think it's really cool," he explained.

Not a whole lot is known about season 11 at the moment, with series creator Ryan Murphy being notoriously cagey about the theme of American Horror Story, returning cast members, or a release date.

Sarah Paulson has previously said that season 10 might be her last appearance on the show though, but this doesn't guarantee that she'll never come back – especially as American Horror Story has been renewed by FX through to season 13.

"It's the first time in about three years where I don't know," Paulson said on x. "I think this is my last season of Horror Story, probably. I mean, I don't know. Every time he comes to me with some whack-a-doodle-stoodle character I tend to be like, 'Yes! Let’s do it!' But I don't know."
