Upload spoilers follow.
In Upload season two, Nathan's (Robbie Amell) afterlife proves to be even more confusing and jam-packed than most people's actual lives... and it seems things will only get more complicated.
A will they/won't they romance? Check. An ex-girlfriend refusing to let go? Check. A victim in a murder plot orchestrated by a political puppet master intent on taking over the world? Overwhelmingly, check.
A premise that, while extremely futuristic, chimes irresistibly with that Black Mirror-style sense that this is only moments away from possibility and extremely relatable even if the tech isn't there yet? We'll stop saying "check" now.
Upload season two's cliffhanger finale left us with tons of questions — and even some lives — hanging in the balance. And it's the kind of life-ending moment that even CTRL+ALT+DEL won't fix.
As a result, fans who blasted through the new seven-episode season will have a lot of demands about season three and what's to come. Thankfully, consider us your personal angels, who you have to keep you updated on these things.

Here's everything you need to know about Upload season three.
Upload season 3 potential release date: When is it coming back?
Good news: Upload has been confirmed for a season three return!
Amazon's Head of Global TV Vernon Sanders said: "Upload has become a bonafide hit that continues to be one of the most watched comedy originals on Prime Video. The series continues to connect and provoke endless possibilities for the future of technology and humanity.
"With Greg's distinct comedic take along with the dynamic creative team and talented actors, they've made a globally relevant series which we're all incredibly proud to bring back another season for our customers."
Writer Greg Daniels had made no secret that he had hopes for more episodes, even admitting to being back writing season three before the second season had aired.
On confirmation the show would have a third outing, he said in a statement: "I'm thrilled to continue the story of Nathan and Nora and the other residents of Lakeview and near-future America as they try to have fun and do the right thing in both the real and virtual worlds."
The production of season three was completed ahead of the ongoing strikes in Hollywood, so Prime Video has confirmed a release date of October 20 for the first two episodes of the eight-part season. Time to start counting down the days.
Upload season 3 cast: Who will be in it?
There are three key players for Upload, so you can expect them all to come back.
Robbie Amell leads the show as tech-whizz-turned-dead-guy Nathan, who's now (kind of) back to life and living in the normal, non-virtual reality.
Then there's his romantic interest Nora (Andy Allo), the virtual-reality worker who's turned to the anti-tech movement The Ludds on her father's advice. However, she's proven to be quite the leader and is now near the top of the anarchist group.
Nathan's now ex-girlfriend Ingrid (Allegra Edwards) also isn't done, continuing to go to extreme lengths to keep him around. Pretending to upload into the virtual Lakeview reality to remain close to him, she spent most of season two in a tricked-out scuba suit in a bathtub, which allows her to live in Lakeview without question.
If we return to Lakeview, we'll see more of Kevin Bigley, who plays Nathan's 'bestie' Luke, and Owen Daniels, the long-standing AI Guy whose face is literally everywhere within the system.
Nora's best friend Aleesha (Zainab Johnson) is also likely to return, depending on where her alliance falls in her job as an upload angel and her friendship with Nora.
As for new additions, Jeanine Mason has joined the cast, according to Variety.
Perhaps best known for her work in The CW series Roswell, New Mexico, Mason will appear in Upload season three as the brand-new character Karina Silva, who's been described as "a charming senior Horizen executive in charge of new product development and cybersecurity".
Upload season 3 plot: What’s going to happen?
Season two of Upload ended on a cliffhanger when Nathan was downloaded into a clone body grown on Ingrid's instructions.
In a desperate bid to keep him — and realising she couldn't continue living the upload life — Ingrid paid for Nathan's body to be regrown in a highly experimental treatment. It has a very low success rate, with the only wins coming from a select number of pigeons.
After realising he'd been murdered to stop his potential programme, Beyond (which would allow poor people to upload freely), Nathan spent a large amount of season two trying to figure out why.
Turns out, it's for political gain. With uploads not having the right to vote as their lives have technically ended, a sinister company called Freeyond was putting dozens of clinics in swing states to allow disadvantaged individuals to upload into a new life — and away from voting booths. If they succeed, hundreds of key votes will keep certain political juggernauts in power.
Turning to The Ludds for help, Nathan decided to download into the body anyway, despite the potential for death, to help Nora stop Freeyond before it's too late.
His plan initially succeeded, and, finally together, Nora and Nathan joined The Ludds on a train bound to stop Freeyond.
However, in the final seconds, Nathan's nose started bleeding, suggesting that his new body was rejecting the downloaded soul. On top of that, realising she'd lost him, Ingrid started a new power play, stealing hairs from his hairbrush to seemingly grow a new Nathan from scratch.
Season three will likely pick up immediately after this decision, with Nathan and Nora on a race against the clock to save him before it's too late.
It'll also be largely political and away from Lakeview as the gang decides what to do next as they intend to take down Freeyond.
Speaking to TheWrap, Daniels said of the season two ending: "Like Schrödinger's Cat, when we open the box, we'll see if the cat was alive or dead, but at the moment, the cat is both alive and dead, you know?
"I feel like it could be played out in a certain number of episodes and then in a certain different number of episodes, as long as there’s constantly enough pull forward and enough reveals."
"I have to say that the specific details of the mystery plot are something that we worked out over the course of a lot of discussions and planting of clues and different possibilities," he added. "I don't think we're at the complete end of the mystery, I will just say. In hopeful optimism of a season three, I'm plotting more stuff now with some writers."
Meanwhile, Andy Allo, who plays Nora Antony, has a specific idea of where she wants her character's story to go.
Speaking to Digital Spy, she said: "I think I'd want to see Nora become really radicalised in a way and wanting to take down the whole thing. I want some action, go real rebel mode and be like, 'Rah, let's burn it all down'."
"I'm in a tough position to answer that at the end of season two," added Robbie Amell, who plays Nathan Brown. "I will say that Greg [Daniels] has a pretty good track record for what he does, and I feel like we're in good hands. Whatever Greg thinks will probably be the best version of the show."
Ingrid star Allegra Edwards said: "We got a little taste of this in season one, where they went to the travel agency and saw glimpses of other afterlives. I'd love to visit other afterlives and just different brands and versions of what that could look like."
Just don't expect things to get too on-the-nose with politics in season three.
"It's a world where heaven is only for the very rich, so you can't avoid critiques of income inequality and billionaires when that's your subject matter," Daniels said (via The Hollywood Reporter). "The trick is to not hit people over the head with that and to be a fun comedy show.
"I would go away to work on something, and I'd bring it back, like, 'This show is not just for Bernie Bros. We can't comment on things this hard'. We had to learn to dial it back, hide the medicine and focus on the comedy.
"This show is a metaphor for people who live too much in the virtual space. It takes place in the slight future, but so much reflects how we live now, how people live for their online presence and that virtual version of [themselves]."
