Netflix's sherbet-hued, Regency-era series, Bridgerton returns for a second season in March — and this time Jonathan Bailey's Anthony can expect not just one love interest, but two.
If you didn't RSVP your streaming invitation in December 2020, season 1 introduced viewers to Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor), the eldest daughter of her family, and the charismatic yet non-committal, Simon Basset (Regé-Jean Page). After a feud, the pair reconciled and season 1 concluded with the pair moving on to raise their first child.

In a recent cover piece by Entertainment Weekly, creator Van Dusen and the cast of the 19th century drama discussed details as to what fans can expect when it comes to Anthony's search for a wife.
When the Sharma family moves from Bombay to London, Anthony finds himself immediately pulled toward Edwina (Charithra Chandran), believing her to be his perfect match — until he finds himself attracted to Edwina's sister, Kate (Simone Ashley).
Bailey, who plays Anthony, told the publication that the love triangle his character finds himself in is "dangerous".

"You can understand why he's drawn to both. And they're both drawn to him in turn. It's an interesting love triangle; it's dangerous when it's siblings. It's bestial between them in a way season 1 wasn't. They're all animals with each other," he said.
Bailey also discussed how his love triangle panders to the wider themes of the show and highlights the specifics of courting culture of the Regency era.
He continued: "Edwina and Kate are the embodiment of his approaches to love — one is head, one is heart. The push and pull [illustrates] how intense it is to fall in love in a society that is so rigid, where the gender roles are so specific, and how much those roles can be completely counterproductive to happiness, progression, and to love."
