Law & Order: Organized Crime season 2 casts The Book of Boba Fett star

Law & Order: Organized Crime has added The Book of Boba Fett star Jennifer Beals to its season two cast as a recurring character.

Deadline reports that Beals, who plays cantina boss Garsa Fwip in Disney+ series The Book of Boba Fett, has been cast in Organized Crime as the wife of New York drug kingpin and head of Marcy Corporation, Preston Webb (Mykelti Williamson).

Although specific storylines for her character have not yet been confirmed, she will be a recurring character on the NBC crime drama. She previously guest-starred on the original Law & Order series in 2007.

Beals is also known for her starring role as dancer Alex Owens in 1983 movie Flashdance, as well as her portrayal of Bette Porter in The L Word. She now stars in and co-executive produces spin-off series The L Word: Generation Q, while she is soon to appear in the Netflix movie Luckiest Girl Alive.

The actress has shared her excitement over joining Organized Crime on Twitter, writing of the casting announcement: "So excited to be joining such a great cast and a legacy show! The icing on the cake is being reunited with the amazing ⁦@ilenechaiken #luckyme."

Ilene Chaiken is an executive producer of both Law and Order: Organized Crime and The L Word: Generation Q, as well as The Handmaid's Tale and Empire.

The casting news comes after it was confirmed that Organized Crime star Dylan McDermott will soon be moving over to fellow Dick Wolf series FBI: Most Wanted, leaving behind his role as crime boss Richard Wheatley to take on a new character.

McDermott will take over from current lead actor Julian McMahon, who is departing after three seasons playing Jess LaCroix on Most Wanted.

The Book of Boba Fett is streaming on Disney+, with new episodes every Wednesday.
