Euphoria's resident drug dealer Fezco has turned into a fan favourite, but the actor who plays him, Angus Cloud, has revealed that Fez originally wasn't even going to make it to season two.
The HBO drama's second season opens with a Fez-centric episode, in which viewers learn more about the character's backstory, but Cloud has told GQ that the long-awaited episode may not have happened at all if the show had stuck to its original plan.
"I was super juiced up. Reading that script, I was fired up for sure," he said of the Fez-focused season premiere – before dropping the news that it nearly never came to light because "I was supposed to die in season 1".

Elaborating on the shock news, he said: "Apparently, because they cast me off the street, I guess the character of Fezco was [never meant to stick around]. I don't even know how [he was meant to die]. I never saw that script. No one ever told me.
"It was one day when we were filming the pilot that I think Jacob [Elordi, who plays Nate Jacobs] told me, he was like, 'Oh yeah, you didn't know? Your character gets [imitates being shot]. And yeah, it never ended up happening.

"I think that they liked what I did and so they decided to keep me alive and let me rock. I don't know how I was going out, but hopefully I would've gone out like a G."
Cloud also promised that fans can expect to see a softer side to Fez in the new season, explaining that seeing his background will make his actions seem far more understandable.

"I'm excited for y'all to see how he kind of comes out of his hard shell a little bit and he kind of exposes his softer side," he said. "You see a little bit of his innocence and you see that he's kind of been forced into this life.
"He's still a kid like everyone else. He might be a year older, but he had to act like an adult from such a young age. But his inner kid is still in there and you get to see it come out slightly."
The star added that getting to play a slightly less tough side of Fez has been a welcome relief for him, saying that he has welcomed a slight reduction in "intensity".
"It's nice, because I'm not the most serious guy in real life but on the show I'm usually not smiling," he said. "So it was nice to be able to just stop furrowing my brow. At the end of a long day of carrying the angry, serious face, it's nice to relax on that intensity."
Euphoria airs Sundays on HBO and HBO Max, and is available the next day on Sky Atlantic and streaming service NOW in the UK.
