The Office star Rainn Wilson has called out AEW legend and WWE Hall of Famer Sting, in a late entry for 2021's most random celebrity interaction.

On Twitter the actor, who played Dwight Schrute in the US version of The Office, vowed to not only one day wrestle Sting but to beat him.

Wilson tweeted: "Someday I will wrestle Sting. And I will win. You can bet on it."

AEW wrestler Ricky Starks then tried to warn Wilson off, replying: "@rainnwilson Dwight, that’s not bright," while Matt Sydal responded: "@rainnwilson Yes please!"

Sting himself then appeared to accept the challenge, telling the actor: "I may have to break out the Flying Toe Hold. You don’t even want to know."

Meanwhile, last month fans of The Office were shocked to learn about a controversial storyline pitch that was (thankfully) rejected.

John Krasinski revealed that he rejected a storyline that saw Jim Halpert cheating on Pam Beesly by kissing Cathy when Pam went on maternity leave.

"That's the only time I remember putting my foot down," John revealed. "I remember saying things that I never thought I'd say before, like, 'I'm not going to shoot it.'

"There is a threshold with which you can push our audience," he continued. "They are so dedicated. We have shown such great respect to them.

"But there's a moment where if you push them too far, they'll never come back. And I think that if you show Jim cheating, they'll never come back."
