Fear the Walking Dead's future revealed beyond season 7

Good news, Fear the Walking Dead fans... the long-running horror spin-off has been renewed for an eighth season.

Season 7's explosive mid-season finale, which aired in the US last night (December 5), saw Alycia Debnam-Carey's elusive Alicia Clark finally make an appearance, and declare war on Colman Domingo's increasingly power-hungry Victor Strand.

At the same time it announced that the series will be back for at least one more instalment, AMC also confirmed that Kim Dickens will be returning as Alicia's mother Madison, who seemingly sacrificed herself to save her family and hasn't been seen on screen since June 2018, in the second half of season 4.

After that, she'll adopt a series regular role in season 8, which is set to film in Savannah, Georgia, not Austin, Texas like its immediate predecessors.

Judging by 7B's teaser trailer, Jenna Elfman (who plays June Dorie), Keith Carradine (John Dorie Sr), Danay Garcia (Luciana Galvez), Rubén Blades (Daniel Salazar), Mo Collins (Sarah Rabinowitz), Christine Evangelista (Sherry), Austin Amelio (Dwight), Karen David (Grace Mukherjee) and Lennie James (Morgan Jones) are all back, too.

Talking about her eagerly anticipated comeback, Dickens told Talking Dead host Chris Hardwick yesterday: "I was able to tune in to season 7 and I just think it's gone epic beyond epic. It's incredible to watch, it's visually stunning and the work that everyone's doing is so impressive.

"I watched it and I was like, 'Well, that looks like a show I'd really like to be on so it's gonna be fun to go back and work with all the new characters, and find out what's happened," she added. "I don't know, I'm a little nervous about that war between two of my favourites."

Fear the Walking Dead returns to AMC in the US on April 17, 2022. Season 7B will premiere simultaneously with the US broadcast on Monday 18th April at 02:00 BST on AMC, exclusively to BT TV customers. The episode will be repeated later that evening at 21:00 BST.
