It has been confirmed that Amazon Prime Video's action-thriller Hanna will be ending after season three.
Based on the 2011 film of the same name, Hanna follows a genetically enhanced girl (played by Esme Creed-Miles) who was raised in the forest, evading the pursuit of a relentless CIA Agent.
Showrunner David Farr confirmed the news, revealing the show wasn't necessarily cancelled, it was always planned to have a "third act" – and it got one.
"That was always the intention, to be honest," Farr told EW. "If you look back at when I was talking about the second season, I talked about how it needed 'the third act.'
"I come from the theatre originally, and I always have full act structure in my head to how a piece of drama plays out. And in this case, I felt that there was this very clear arc."
Previously, Farr opened up to Digital Spy about the differences between the Joe Wright-directed original movie and the TV series.

"What Joe did was, he went in a very specific direction with the movie. So the screenplay that I wrote actually had some quite big differences from where it ended up.
"He made it such a charismatic fairytale... that's how I remember it. But it was quite different to the screenplay."
He went on: "I had a very clear political conspiracy that was sitting underneath it, around Hanna's true identity. I think on TV you can explore, obviously, a much more in-depth character.
"So I sort of realised that I could start in the same place, but effectively tell the full story that I had in my head, over the seven hours."
