Netflix has dropped the first trailer for its remake of Japanese sci-fi series Cowboy Bebop.
The new live-action reboot follows bounty hunters Spike Spiegel, Jet Black and Faye Valentine, and was first announced nearly three years ago. It is finally set to premiere on November 19.
The official synopsis from Netflix reads: "Cowboy Bebop is an action-packed space Western about three bounty hunters, aka 'cowboys', all trying to outrun the past. "

"As different as they are deadly," it continues, "[the cowboys] form a scrappy, snarky crew ready to hunt down the solar system's most dangerous criminals – for the right price.
"But they can only kick and quip their way out of so many scuffles before their pasts finally catch up with them."

Harold & Kumar and Star Trek actor John Cho plays Spike, described as having a wry wit and a deadly smile. Marvel's Luke Cage star Mustafa Shakir will play Jet Black, the crew's captain and a die-hard jazz lover who was previously an honest police officer before a brutal betrayal led him into bounty hunting. The Detour's Daniella Pineda is the third in the central crew, Faye Valentine, who is bold, brash and unpredictable.
Rounding out the cast will be Alex Hassell (The Tragedy of Macbeth) as Vicious, Spike's nemesis from the Red Dragon Crime Syndicate, and Elena Satine (Revenge, Magic City) as Julia, the femme fatale who has a complicated history with Spike and Vicious.

Tamara Tunie (Law & Order: Special Victims Unit) and Jan Uddin (EastEnders) also star in recurring roles.
The series will be led by showrunner André Nemec, who previously worked as a writer on Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Shinichirō Watanabe, the director of the original animated series which first aired back in 1998, is also on board as a consultant for the reboot.
Cowboy Bebop hits Netflix on November 19. The original anime version is available on All 4 in the UK.
