Marvel's Kat Dennings and Pose star Michaela Jaé Rodriguez are among the stars who have signed up to appear in new anthology series Girls Can't Shoot (& Other Lies).
Based on the international bestselling essay collection Feminists Don't Wear Pink (and Other Lies), the series will tell the story of different women in each episode, with Booksmart's Beanie Feldstein, The Good Place star Jameela Jamil and Ghosts's Lolly Adefope also set to star in episodes.
Ammonite star Saoirse Ronan will executive produce the pilot episode of the series, which is being produced by Mark Gordon Pictures, reports Deadline.

The first season of the show will "explore and play with the expectations of women in storytelling by placing heroines at the centre of traditionally male genres in a multitude of original, high concept, cinematic tales", with female filmmakers set to bring the series to life.
Writer Scarlett Curtis, who created the format and curated the essay collection that the series is based on, will executive produce the series and write the pilot episode, with Shadi Hamta also set to write.
Actors Dennings and Adefope will also write the episodes in which they are starring, adapting them from their own essays in the collection, while Feldstein and Rodriguez will co-star in and develop their episode together. Each lead actor will also serve as an executive producer in their episode.
The source material also contains essays on feminism by actresses Emma Watson, Keira Knightley, Karen Gillan and Evanna Lynch.

Curtis has described working on the series as part of her "lifelong dream", saying: "Feminists Don't Wear Pink (and other lies) gave a generation of women the chance to tell their stories and Girls Can't Shoot (& other lies) has the exact same mission.
"It has been my lifelong dream to show that women's stories can be both entertaining and empowering and I could not have found a more incredible group of women to bring their extraordinary visions to life."
Girls Can't Shoot (& Other Lies) currently has no confirmed release date or network.
