Big Bang Theory's Mayim Bialik fell out with Neil Patrick Harris

The Big Bang Theory's Mayim Bialik has revealed how she fell out with How I Met Your Mother star Neil Patrick Harris.

Appearing on The Late Late Show With James Corden, Bialik explained how her dislike for musicals almost cost her her longtime friendship with Patrick Harris.

Bialik explained that as a teenager, she went to see the actor in a production of Rent, where she refused to give a standing ovation because she just doesn't like musicals.

"When everyone is clapping at the end and you say to your boyfriend next to you, 'I don't want to stand for this,' and then you look up and Neil Patrick Harris is looking right at you... it's a bad day," Bialik said.

But Harris read her lips from the stage and later asked her: "Why did you say you weren't going to stand up?"

Bialik continued: "We didn't speak for a long time. He says that he forgave me and he sent me flowers when he heard I was still carrying this terrible guilt."

Meanwhile, Bialik recently extended her run as host of US quiz show Jeopardy until at least the end of the year.

Bialik made her debut as host on September 20, with the original plan being that she'd assume the position for just the first three weeks of transmission.

However, it was recently confirmed that she will be working alongside ex-contestant Ken Jennings until early November while the show bosses extend their search for a permanent host.

Jeopardy's 38th season was supposed to feature Mike Richards as Alex Trebek's hosting successor, but he was removed from the role last month following the resurfacing of some old misogynistic and racist comments on a podcast.
