The Mandalorian isn't like other shows. For starters, it managed to keep one of its biggest episode reveals a secret before the moment aired – and that doesn't happen very often.
We're of course talking about the moment Mark Hamill made his surprise (and de-aged) entrance in The Mandalorian's season two finale, when Luke Skywalker suddenly appeared to collect Grogu from Din Djarin for his Jedi training.
Unsurprisingly, Mark's return as Luke Skywalker was the culmination of a lot of hard work behind the scenes, and now the Disney+ series' boss Dave Filoni has revealed how the show managed to keep his comeback from everyone.

In a special Disney Gallery episode exploring the making of The Mandalorian, Filoni confirmed that a different iconic Star Wars character was named in scripts and used in concept art as a placeholder for Luke.
The producer opted to use Jedi Master Plo Koon as a red herring when preparing for the episode, admitting that because he's such a big fan of the character, no-one would've questioned Plo Koon's involvement.
"It's fairly well known by deep core fans that Plo Koon's my favourite Jedi," Filoni explained. "And a lot of people, if Plo Koon from the script got out, would assume 'Well, of course, 'cause Dave likes Plo Koon'" (via Collider).

As well as swapping out Luke's name for Plo Koon in scripts, and featuring him in concept art, the Mandalorian crew even digitally replaced the raw footage of Skywalker actor Max Lloyd-Jones with Plo Koon's head.
We can't wait to see what kind of secret keeping has been going on since when The Mandalorian's third season eventually arrives. There's bound to be more... right?
