The Flash to get mini-Arrowverse crossover with other DC superheroes

The Arrowverse is getting a mini-crossover event after all on The Flash this year.

Heroes and villains from the past and present in the Arrowverse will be joining Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) for a five-part event called 'Armageddon', set to kick off on The Flash on Tuesday, November 16.

Batwoman star Javicia Leslie and Supergirl's Chyler Leigh (aka Sentinel / Alex Danvers) will both be appearing, along with Cress Williams of Black Lightning and Brandon Routh (aka The Atom) of DC's Legends of Tomorrow returning.

Other familiar faces coming back will be Tom Cavanagh as the Reverse Flash, Neal McDonough as Damien Darhk, Kat McNamara as Mia Smoak and Osric Chau as Ryan Choi.

Here's the official synopsis: "A powerful alien threat arrives on Earth under mysterious circumstances and Barry (Grant Gustin), Iris (Candice Patton) and the rest of Team Flash are pushed to their limits in a desperate battle to save the world.

"But with time running out, and the fate of humanity at stake, Flash and his companions will also need to enlist the help of some old friends if the forces of good are to prevail."

Producer Eric Wallace has also promised "some truly epic moments and huge surprises" that will make these the biggest-ever episodes of The Flash.

In DC lore, the 'Armageddon' event took place across various titles in 1991 where several heroes and villains joined forces across time to battle the dictator Monarch. There's no telling yet whether the TV version will follow this exact storyline.

Aside from 'Armageddon', Stargirl's producer Geoff Johns has also teased an upcoming crossover with The Flash this season as John Wesley Shipp joins the newer series as the Golden Age Flash.

The Flash returns to The CW with the five-part 'Armageddon' event on November 16. In the UK, the series is airing on Sky One.
