Netflix has confirmed that its hit series Fate: The Winx Saga has officially begun work on season 2.
Fate: The Winx Saga follows the coming-of-age journey of five fairies – Bloom, Stella, Aisha, Terra, and Musa – who attend Alfea, a prestigious magical boarding school in the Otherworld.

News of season 2 going into production means it's been a quick turnaround from the makers, considering the all-new episodes were only confirmed in February, a month after the show premiered on the streaming service.

Alongside a panoramic shot of the full season 2 cast, a Netflix tweet announced today (July 20): "Fate: The Winx Saga Season 2 is officially in production! The returning cast gathered to meet new cast members Brandon Grace as Grey, Éanna Hardwicke as Sebastian and ... Paulina Chávez as Flora!!!"
The newcomers will be joining the season one cast, which includes Abigail Cowen, Precious Mustapha, Elisha Applebaum, Eliot Salt, Hannah van der Westhuysen, Danny Griffin, Freddie Thorp and many more.
Let's hope there's an even quicker turnaround for the new episodes being uploaded to stream.

Meanwhile, back in March, Musa actress Elisha Applebaum reflected on the jaw-dropping season 1 finale, which saw Farah (Eve Best) killed by Rosalind (Lesley Sharp).
"We were shocked," Elisha explained of the twist. "We were so upset that Farah has gone and we were asking her, by the end, 'Please tell me, if there's a season 2, that you are coming back. We cannot have you dead.'
"We've still got a lot of unanswered questions, like why was Andreas bringing up Beatrix instead of Sky? I'm still shocked."
