Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon has paused production after a positive COVID-19 test on set.

The new HBO series had been in the midst of filming in the UK when a production member tested positive, Deadline reports, with the individual now in isolation as per industry guidelines.

Close contacts will also be required to quarantine, with filming expected to resume on Wednesday, July 21.

The series isn't the only recent production to shut down because of coronavirus, with Netflix pausing work on first unit production for the Matilda movie as well as Bridgerton after positive cases.

The news comes as England lifts social distancing regulations this week, while positive COVID cases in the UK are coming up to as many as 50,000 a day.
