Arrow's Stephen Amell shares first trailer for wrestling drama Heels

Arrow actor Stephen Amell has shared the first trailer for his upcoming wrestling drama Heels.

The series, which will air on Starz, sees Amell playing bad guy wrestler Jack Spade (the heel), who is feuding with his brother Ace, played by Vikings' Alexander Ludwig, who is the face.

In the trailer, Amell's character is heard telling his brother: "You're a washed-up quarterback who couldn't play in college. I'm a lawnmower salesman. It is not enough for me," as the brothers are shown inside and outside the ring.

Set in Georgia, the series follows a family-owned wrestling promotion where the two brothers find themselves at war over their late father's legacy.

Heels will also feature former WWE Superstar CM Punk in an as-yet-undisclosed role.

Speaking exclusively to Digital Spy last month, Punk revealed what he could about his role.

"I play a character that is, technically it's me in another life," he said. "A very popular independent wrestler who, if you want people to show up to your show, you book him on this show.

"He's kind of been everywhere, done everything, he's a little bit older now and he's a character that everybody likes."

"I almost want people to see it without me explaining really anything else," he continued. "It's pretty out there, at least when you think in terms of Phil Brooks or CM Punk, this is not who you think of.

"And obviously that's the fun thing about acting, you get to play different characters and be different people. But I've known this character in many different iterations in hundreds of different locker rooms across the world."

Heels premieres on Starz in the US on August 15, while a UK broadcaster hasn't been announced.
