13 Reasons Why season four finale spoilers below.

Katherine Langford was not actually available to film the final season of 13 Reasons Why — which should come as a surprise to those who've watched the episodes.

Her character Hannah Baker does make one final appearance in the 13 Reasons Why's final episode in one of Clay Jensen's (Dylan Minnette) visions, walking towards him in the gym following graduation.

However, this scene was actually achieved through some visual trickery, as evidenced by Hannah wearing the same outfit from Winter Formal in episode five of the series.

Langford recently told Digital Spy and other media that she was simply too busy with her new Netflix show Cursed to come back for a new 13 Reasons Why scene.

What to Read Next

"I think I was still filming Cursed, so I wasn't able to go in and shoot anything," she recalled. "It's funny because I haven't fully seen season three or four – but I'm making my way through season three and watching season four now that that chapter's closed.

"I'm really proud of everyone in the cast, and we're still really tight. In many ways, I already know what happens and I'm just so proud for them. Closing that chapter was such a special part instilled in all of our lives."

Since Langford didn't actually film anything new for the 13 Reasons Why finale, was she even aware producers used footage of her?
