Some Rick and Morty viewers have been convinced that Beth Smith is actually a clone for quite some time now.
It all dates back to that third season episode where Rick gave Beth the choice of being cloned to allow her to go off and have all sorts of adventures without having to worry about taking care of her children.
Now, star Sarah Chalke has weighed in on what she thinks of the interesting fan theory that Beth took her dad up on the offer.

"It's so funny. I don't know the answer, and I don't think I'll ever know the answer," she laughed in an interview with Digital Spy. "I don't know if I'll ever be told. But I think it's dealt with in such an amazing way in season 4, and I'm so excited for you guys to see it."
Keeping schtum on what's to come in future episodes, the Scrubs alum went on to say that she's "under strict gag orders to not say anything about the second half" of the current instalment when it comes to Beth's fateful decision all those years ago.
"We'll see, we'll see, we'll see," she said. "It definitely adds a really interesting part for Beth, and for me to play as an actor. It's one of my favourite parts."

Elsewhere, Chalke's co-star Spencer Grammer, who plays Beth's daughter Summer on the show, is a little more hopeful that audiences will be told one way or the other whether her on-screen mum is a clone.
"There's 70 more episodes coming. I'm sure at some point there might be answer. But who knows," she stated. "If you believe in string theory, or you believe time is relative, and you believe in the concept of relativity, there is an unlimited possibility of dimensions and experiences.
"There's a possible world where, of course, there's a cloned Beth. But there's also a reality where – you know, perhaps the reality they live in, there isn't, because Beth is the best Beth she could be. But honestly, I don't know. You’ll have to wait and see."
Rick and Morty season 4 airs Sundays on Adult Swim in the US, and airs in the UK on E4 and All 4 on Thursdays.
